What is freeze dried candy?

Freeze dried candies take away the sticky, gooey and messy aspect of your favourite sweets and makes them light and crunchy bite sized treats that melt in your mouth. The flavours are enhanced through the freeze-drying process making these tasty sweets perfect for any occasion!

Are freeze drying and dehydrating the same thing?

No, they are quite different. Freeze-drying removes 98% of the water in foods while dehydration removes about 80% giving freeze-dried products a much longer shelf-life. Freeze-dried food is flash frozen and then exposed to a vacuum, which causes all the water in it to vaporize, while dehydration uses heat to remove the moisture from the food.

How long will my snacks last?

Your freeze-dried snacks could last between 3 months to a year depending on your location and how you store them. This will vary based on current weather (candies don't do well in heat) and humidity. For longer lasting treats store them in a cool dry place. Sugar Free Taffy is very unstable in very hot weather and may not last as long as normal, possibly only a few weeks if kept in a cool place. Once you open your treats make sure to re-seal the bag after you are done otherwise your treats will start to re-absorb that moisture that has been removed during the freeze drying process. The Deli Containers will not stay as fresh for as long as the mylar bags. Once opened their seal is not as air tight, they may last only a week or two. To help keep them fresh either put them into an air tight container or put plastic wrap over the top and the the lid as this may help them stay fresher. Zip Lock bags are NOT air tight.

Are your products gluten free, dairy free, nut free, vegan?

Some of our products meet the above criteria, however we can not guarantee that there isn’t cross contamination as we use the same equipment for all our products. All products are labeled with the ingredients from the manufacturer.

Is there a Processing Time?

Yes there is. Please allow 3-5 business days for processing as sometimes products are out of stock and this allows us to make more to fulfill your order.

Can I eat these products if I have braces or dentures?

YES! The best part of these treats is that they are braces and denture friendly. Since the treats are no longer sticky or chewy, you will not have the same problems with candy sticking to your teeth, just take a bite and let it melt in your mouth! With that in mind the longer you 'chew' a product the more moisture is reintriduced to the product therefore making it a bit 'chewy' at the end.
